Air Fryer Baked Brie is one of those air fryer appetizers you won’t stop thinking about.
Warm gooey brie cheese, topped with apricot preserves and maple syrup, this air fryer recipe is great for special occasions, a mid-day snack, or date night at home.
Air Fryer Brie is one of my all-time favorite appetizers. I am a huge cheese lover, and I have a weakness for gooey cheese, which makes this the best recipe ever.
Next time you invite your friends and family over for a game night, a holiday season party, or a get-together, make this recipe. It’s a great appetizer, serve it with sourdough bread, crackers, and plenty of fresh fruit.

What does baked brie cheese taste like?
Baked brie cheese has a rich, creamy, and slightly nutty taste. When baked, the outer layer of the cheese becomes slightly crispy while the inside becomes warm and gooey.
Baked brie is a delicious appetizer or snack that is popular for its creamy texture and rich flavor that goes along with charcuterie board ingredients like bread, crackers, fresh and dry fruit, fruit preserves, honey and maple syrup, ham, salami, and nuts.
What do you need to make this air fryer baked brie recipe?
Brie wheel: brie cheese is a cow’s milk cheese that is packed full of buttery flavors.
When you put it in the air fryer or oven, it becomes a melt-in-your-mouth texture. There is an outer rind on it when you purchase it; keep that on! It helps hold all the melted cheese together.
Apricot preserves: I love pairing brie with a sweet fruit jam, like apricot preserves, because it combines the sweetness with the creaminess of the melty brie making the best appetizer or snack combination. You can also use peach or any other kind of fruit preserves.
Maple syrup: adds a delicious sweet flavor to the brie that almost tastes like honey or caramel. If you’d prefer honey, you can always use that as well, but you won’t get the maple flavor. Because of how sweet it is, honey is a great substitute for maple syrup.
You will also need an air fryer! I like this one because it’s big enough to fit so many things in, even your brie with puff pastry.
Because of the size, it still allows airflow throughout the fryer, which helps everything cook evenly.
How to Make Air Fryer Baked Brie
- Preheat the air fryer to 350℉.
- Prepare the brie. Remove the plastic from the brie wheel and keep the bottom part of the wooden box it comes in; you can toss the lid. Place a piece of parchment paper inside the wooden bottom, then place the brie wheel back in the box. Place the brie in the air fryer basket and air fry for 7-9 minutes.
- Find a brie that comes in a wooden box, like Camembert does! This will help the cheese hold its shape when cooking but you can easily take it out after. If you can’t find such brie, use a sheet of baking parchment under.
- Air fry the brie. Place the brie in the center of the air fryer basket and cook for 7-9 minutes.
- Serve. Pull the parchment paper and remove the brie cheese from the bottom package. To serve, place the brie cheese on a wooden board. Add apricot preserves and maple syrup on top of the brie cheese.
Can I wrap my brie in puff pastry?
Yes! I love to wrap my brie with a sheet of puff pastry before tossing it into the air fryer. Air frying your buttery puff pastry with the brie makes the pastry fluffy and flaky; it’s one of my favorite ways to make it!
I like to brush the top of the puff pastry with a light coat of egg wash and a sprinkle of flakey salt so that the pastry turns golden brown.
How long does brie go in the air fryer?
Brie goes in the air fryer for about seven to nine minutes at 350 degrees f. The time may vary depending on the size of your brie wheel.
Check on it around the seven minute mark to see if your brie is all melted and done or if it needs a few more minutes.
Do you take the skin off the brie before baking?
No, you will keep the rind on while you’re baking it. This helps the cheese hold its shape so it doesn’t melt and run all in your air fryer.
The rind is also edible, so there is no need to remove it. If you’d rather remove it, you’re welcome to take it off after the brie is done cooking, but I don’t recommend doing this because it will make a pretty big mess.
Why is my Air Fryer Baked Brie rubbery?
You may have accidentally overcooked it. If you’re worried about over-baking, you can always take the top part of the rind off, which will help with the rubbery texture.
If you’re cooking your brie with puff pastry, it will take a few minutes longer in the air fryer for the cheese to melt all the way through.
Can you put aluminum foil in an air fryer?
Absolutely. I love a good easy clean up! A great aluminum foil substitute is parchment paper, which is also air fryer safe.
Parchment paper is a little harder to cut, but it doesn’t stick to food like aluminum foil sometimes does.
Whether you’re using parchment paper or aluminum foil, make sure you poke holes so the air can flow through.
What to Serve with Baked Brie
The good thing about baked brie is that it pairs well with so many things. It’s delicious when topped with fruit preserves, fig jam, maple syrup, or honey.
My favorite things to serve with it are fresh fruits, toasted baguette slices, or crackers. You can also serve brie on a charcuterie board with pieces of bread around it for the perfect appetizer or snack.
How to serve this baked brie cheese?
I recommend assembling all the charcuterie board ingredients before baking the brie cheese; make sure to leave a space in the middle for the brie cheese. Serve the baked brie cheese immediately after taking it out from the air fryer.
Place the cheese over a wooden board or a tray in the middle of your charcuterie board ingredients. Add apricot preserves and maple syrup on top of the brie cheese and line all the charcuterie board ingredients around.
Make a cut in the brie cheese to allow the melted cheese to come out in the center of the charcuterie board.
How to store this baked brie cheese?
I recommend wrapping the leftover brie cheese in parchment paper or plastic wrap and storing it in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Store any other leftover ingredients separated from the cheese.
How many days baked brie cheese last in the refrigerator?
Once brie cheese has been melted, it’s best to consume it immediately. Melted cheese can become a breeding ground for bacteria, and it’s not recommended to keep it in the refrigerator for an extended period.
If you have any leftover melted brie, store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator and consume it within 2-3 days.
Can I make Air Fryer Baked Brie ahead of time?
Once baked, brie cheese will come out of the air fryer very hot and soft, and it’s better to be consumed immediately.
You can assemble some charcuterie board ingredients on your board ahead of time, but keep in mind that some cold ingredients, like ham and salami, and others, like sliced bread and fresh fruit, need to be served right before consumption.
How to reheat brie
Brie cheese will be soft and gooey after baking it on the air fryer, but it will harden after a while. You can reheat the cheese in the air fryer at 350 F on a piece of parchment paper.
Keep a close eye on it so it doesn’t run off the parchment paper since it won’t have the rind to hold it all together!
You can also reheat brie in the microwave in 15 second intervals.
