Ingredients

  • 1 lb sirloin or rib eye, shaved
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/3 tsp salt
  • 1/3 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup green bell pepper, thinly sliced (about 1 small pepper)
  • 1/2 cup red bell pepper, thinly sliced (about 1 small pepper)
  • 1/2 of a sweet onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 6 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 hoagie rolls

Optional

  • 1 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley
  • yellow mustard

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400F and line the basket with air fryer parchment for easier cleanup.
  • Add the steak, garlic, salt, pepper, bell peppers, onions, mushrooms and olive oil to a large mixing bowl and toss until combined. Place the steak mixture in the air fryer basket and cook for 10-12 minutes, or until the meat is fully cooked. Then top the mixture with sliced provolone cheese in a single layer and continue cooking for about 2 minutes, or until the cheese has melted.
  • Meanwhile, prepare the cheesesteaks. If you like, brush the outsides with butter before filling them up with the steak mixture. Then use a spatula or tongs to fill the hoagie rolls with the steak and veggies. Place the filled hoagies back in the air fryer for 1-2 mins to warm up.
  • Divide the cheesesteaks between 4 plates If you like, you can top them with parsley and yellow mustard.
